Offline & privacy

Does church presentation software work without an internet connection?

NaveLight does, completely and indefinitely. The Bibles, hymns, songs and media are stored on the machine, the speech and search models run on the machine, and there is no account to sign into. Most presentation software works offline for the basics but checks a licence periodically, and cloud-based AI tools stop detecting scripture the moment the connection drops.

Where does the sermon audio go?

Nowhere. Transcription and scripture search run on the church's own computer, so the audio and the transcript never leave the building. There is no account, no upload and no cloud processing, which is also why the AI features keep working when the internet doesn't.

The AI

Does the AI put things on screen by itself?

Only if you tell it to, and you decide capability by capability. Six settings — explicit references, verse navigation, version switch, semantic matches, song cues and lyric follow — each run in Assist (suggest only), Smart Auto (project when at least 95% confident) or Full Auto. It ships cautious, with the guessier features on Assist, and one button returns everything to suggest-only mid-service.

Moving over

Can NaveLight import my existing songs?

Yes, from EasyWorship and ProPresenter, plus OpenLyrics XML and plain text. Both libraries are detected automatically during setup and bring across songs, media and presentations in one step. You can also paste lyrics directly, including from SongSelect with the CCLI details attached.

What computer does it need?

A mid-range machine your media team probably already has: 4 GB of RAM minimum, 8 GB recommended. During setup NaveLight checks the computer and recommends which speech model it can comfortably run, and the rest of the software works with no AI model installed at all.
